Come and enjoy true country hospitality, whether you are a business or leisure traveler!

La Rose Guesthouse is situated conveniently close to the shopping area of town yet in a quiet cul-de-sac street on the banks of the Vaal River.

La Rose Guesthouse was originally built as a spacious family home and only recently renovated as a guesthouse.

The house has a home-away-from-home ambiance with all the conveniences you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Go to sleep at night hearing the crickets and frogs inhabiting the river banks, then wake up to the call of a fish eagle in the morning.

Relax in quiet corners of the garden, take a swim in our large swimming pool  or sit quietly reading away in our mini “library”!

We have a lovely lapa near the swimming pool with braai facilities to be enjoyed during warm summer evenings.

Douglas is a town situated near the confluence of the Orange and Vaal Rivers in the Northern Cape province of South Africa and  situated  100 km from Kimberley  and 271 km from Bloemfontein. Douglas is divided in three sections named Bongani, Breipaal and Douglas.

The town is in a very green area and lies on the banks of the Vaal River.

The town has the largest irrigation farms in South Africa and produces corn, wheat, peanuts, cotton, potatoes and pecan nuts.

There are also cattle, sheep and game farms in the Douglas area.

The GWK Landzicht wine cellar is also an attraction in the area. The estate produces a variety of desert and table wines.

The town itself is a green patchwork of dramatic contrast – space for the solitary and activity for the energetic.  There are a lot of activities in and around town to stimulate spirit, body and soul.
